Jason Colvin

Owner/Senior Principal Consultant

Jason Colvin is the owner/senior principal consultant for Human Capital Advantage, LLC which provides human resources consulting services that enable strategic planning to operational execution.

Prior to forming Human Capital Advantage in 2024, Jason was a Senior Vice-President Human Resources for Mastercard leading the human resource business partnership for the Technology business unit. He has 30 years of human resources expertise in companies with revenues ranging from less than $1B to more than $25B. He has a demonstrated track record of leading HR functions through various transformations and industry disruptions including post-IPO integration, rapid growth and scaling, market entry, divestitures, and acquisitions.

Jason has a reputation for being an effective global leader who successfully balances strategic planning and strong execution. His leadership is grounded on values, maximizing people’s potential, and common sense. His goal is to give back to clients the human resource experience he has accumulated during his career to help them become successful. 

Jason has accomplished a lot during his career but three accomplishments’ stand out.  While he was at Mastercard, he led the technology start-up for Mastercard’s China market entry which was a multimillion-dollar investment in HR infrastructure and talent acquisition model.  During his tenure at Bank of America, he led the outsourcing/divestiture initiatives as a governance team member for Bank of America’s largest network outsourcing contract with Electronic Data Systems.  He led 3 divestiture initiatives which saved millions of dollars to the bottom line.  Finally, he has a career spanning “Top 10%” performance in employee and leadership engagement scores.

Jason is a proud Iowa State University alumnus with the following degrees: Master of Science (MS) in Industrial Relations, and a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Sociology.  He currently resides in O’Fallon Missouri with his wife, son, and bull mastiff.  In his spare time, he enjoys athletic events, exercising, biking, hiking, golfing, and hunting.

Led multiple C-level technology searches either independently or in partnership with third party executive search agencies

Mergers & Acquisitions/Divestitures

Led the human resource activities including due diligence for integration efforts within financial services and technology companies. Led multiple divestitures across financial services and technology platforms. All of these actions resulted in millions of dollars in cost savings.

Executive Coaching

Certified executive coach for the advanced development program which focused on high potential executive development. In 2021, recognized as a runner up as mentor of the year by the 30 Percent Club which promotes gender diversity at board and senior management levels

Employee Development

Established a sales competency model to source candidates and develop internal talent which improved talent acquisition, retention, and productivity.

Led major restructuring initiatives across multiple business units and geographies.

Process Optimization

Six Sigma DFFS certified and led the optimization efforts across enterprise HR platforms.
